Allen & Company Brings Geospatial Laser Scanning to 7-Acre Tucker Ranch Project
Winter Garden, FL, November 15, 2023 – Allen & Company, a premier mapping, surveying, and geospatial services firm located in Central Florida, is proud to announce that the practical applications of the laser scanning technology used at its Tucker Ranch project are already bringing in significant data sets. The ranch provides a location to acquire a diverse range of data capture using a variety of devices and tools from Allen & Company’s laser scanning resources—which will then be shared with industry partners for the betterment of all.
The seven-acre public park is being used for the application of Terrestrial, Mobile, and Airborne laser sensor technology. Tucker Ranch, located just 2.5 miles from Allen & Company’s HQ office in Winter Garden, provides an ideal training site for drone pilot training, crew chief training, and junior crew chief preparation.
“Tucker Ranch will be a game-changer for our industry,” said James Rush, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager with Allen & Company, adding that the overall effort required 400 hours’ worth of work to complete. “The ranch provides a perfect location for practical training in surveying, subsurface utility exploration, and construction. We will be training the leaders of tomorrow with the latest laser scanning technology.”

Bringing together these forward-driven companies at Tucker Ranch ensures the industry meets its current and future needs for state-of-the-art surveying technology and knowledge.
Allen & Company is already taking advantage of information gleaned from 9 sensor manufacturers totaling 17 data sets across the site. The data sets have already been downloaded over 1,500 times only three weeks after coming online. As the project’s scope expands, more data sets from DJI and FARO will be added.
